California based Dimitri Grunhauser started his career as an Optician in 1991. After more than 20 years of working with eyewear he established himself as a trendsetter in the optical world. In 2006 he opened his san Francisco store with focus on outstanding quality eyewear. Spectacles For Humans immediately became a mecca for eyewear connoisseurs . In 2010 he opened Spectacles For Humans Showroom in Downtown Los Angeles and began working on his own designs.


Grunhauser's vision for his brand is to create frames that are bold, luxurious and timeless with strong emphasis on old world quality. After a long search for a production facility he chose a small family run factory in the Dolomites region of Italy. Handmade from Mazzucchelli acetate, his first three designs make an entry into the world of fashion sunglasses in October of 2011 and are inspired by City of Angels and Rock'n'Roll lifestyle.
